BMW M2 adds all-wheel-drive for 2027, while keeping a rear-drive option

BMW’s US site leaked a 2027 M2 xDrive with AWD and an eight-speed automatic, to be sold alongside the existing rear-drive M2. Autocar expects a rear-biased AWD with a full rear-drive mode, and power around the M2 CS level (about 523 hp and 479 lb-ft), with a weight near 3,970 lb and a potential sub-3.7-second 0–60 mph time. The leak also hints at broader 2027 updates (3 Series M350 xDrive, iX3/iX4, X5, 7 Series 740 xDrive) and notes some models like the X4 and 8 Series may be discontinued.
