Sonos discontinues local file playback on Android devices

Sonos will remove the On this Mobile Device option from its Android app's Music Sources tab on May 23, 2023, leaving Android users with limited options to play music files stored locally on their phones or tablets. They can use Bluetooth, put their phone's music library on a network-attached storage device, use a Mac or PC, or upload their tunes to a streaming music service. However, even if they have a Bluetooth-capable Sonos device, they won't get an equivalent level of sound quality to streaming a track directly from Apple Music or Amazon Music.
