Officials at North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina announced the possible discovery of a long-rumored secret moonshine cave underneath one of the grandstands, thanks to a sinkhole. The area, believed to be around 700 square feet, was found during a cleaning operation, and while no still has been found yet, an interior wall and small cave were discovered. The speedway, a historic NASCAR track, is undergoing renovations ahead of the NASCAR All-Star Race, and the discovery adds to the track's ties to the Prohibition Era and the sport's roots in moonshine running.
