The Arizona Diamondbacks lost a pitching duel 2-1 against the Boston Red Sox, with catcher Reese McGuire's go-ahead squeeze proving to be the difference in the game. Diamondbacks' Zach Davies made his return from the injured list and allowed two earned runs on five hits in 3.1 innings. The bullpen shut out Boston from there, but Arizona's bats went cold with only three hits and no walks. The D-backs have scored three runs in the first two games of this series, and manager Torey Lovullo feels there's too much focus on trying to hit for power.
