Patriots Cut Ties with RB James Robinson After 3 Months

The New England Patriots have waived running back James Robinson less than three months after signing him to a two-year deal worth up to $8 million. Robinson struggled in his short time with the New York Jets last season, averaging just 21.3 rushing yards per game on 2.9 yards per carry in four games with the team. The undrafted free agent burst onto the scene during his rookie season in Jacksonville, but his stats dwindled before he suffered a torn Achilles in a Week 16 loss to the Jets. Robinson was expected to add depth to the running back position for the upcoming season, but he will now be a free agent if he clears waivers.
