Paolo Banchero to Represent Team USA at FIBA World Cup

Paolo Banchero, the No. 1 pick from the 2022 NBA Draft, has committed to play for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup in the Philippines, despite previously saying he would play for Team Italy. Banchero joins ten other American pros, including Jaren Jackson, Anthony Edwards, and Brandon Ingram, who have committed to the team. The American team is versatile, big, and deep but short on national team experience. Training camp begins on August 3 in Las Vegas, and the first game of the World Cup is on August 26 in Manila.
