Michele Kang, owner of Lyon and the Washington Spirit, has acquired London City Lionesses FC, an independent club in the FA Women's Championship, as part of her vision to build a global multi-club organization. Kang aims to promote the Lionesses to the Women's Super League (WSL) and establish them as a top team. The acquisition aligns with Kang's strategy of investing in women's football and expanding her organization's reach. She plans to add more teams in Asia, Europe, South America, Mexico, and Africa in the future. The Lionesses will retain their branding and identity, similar to Lyon and the Spirit.
