Matt Carpenter, the pesky hitter, hit a home run and two doubles, and a sacrifice fly, finishing 3-for-3 with five RBIs in the Padres' 7-5 victory over the D-backs. The Padres took three of four games from the D-backs, and Carpenter finished 5-for-7 with seven RBIs in the series. Carpenter has been taking excellent at-bats all year, and he has carved himself an impactful role on the Padres.
