Javier Báez benched mid-game for costly mistakes.

Detroit Tigers shortstop Javier Baez was benched in the middle of a game against the Toronto Blue Jays after making a base running mistake. Baez hit a ball off the left-field fence in his first at-bat but didn't run hard out of the batter's box, thinking it was a home run. He still made it to second base safely but was doubled off second base on the next play. Baez has struggled since signing a six-year, $140 million contract with the Tigers last offseason, and there's a player option for the final four years of the deal this offseason.
