Gators Dominate NIT with Clayton's Stellar Performance

Walter Clayton Jr. scores 28 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the Florida Gators to an 86-71 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers in the NIT Season Tip-Off. The Gators shot 47% from the field and defended the Panthers at a 35% clip. They outscored Pitt in transition points, had more assists and fewer turnovers, and their bench outscored Pitt's. Clayton's former coach, Rick Pitino, was in attendance and jokingly criticized his defense. The Gators will face Baylor in the tournament championship.
