Eric Hosmer, former first baseman for the Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres, has officially retired from Major League Baseball at the age of 34. Despite some ups and downs in his career, including a World Series win with the Royals in 2015, Hosmer leaves the game with four Gold Gloves, a Silver Slugger Award, an All-Star appearance, and a World Series ring. He also won the World Baseball Classic with Team USA in 2017 and amassed 1,753 hits, 198 home runs, and nearly $175 million in career earnings.
