Ex-Timberwolves Staffer Arrested for Stealing Strategic Hard Drive

Former Minnesota Timberwolves employee Somak Sarkar has been arrested and charged with felony third-degree burglary for stealing strategic information from the hard drive of the team's analytics department head, Sachin Gupta. Approximately 5,700 files, including employment and player contracts, as well as Gupta's personal financial information, were copied from the stolen hard drive. Sarkar, who was fired after the team discovered the hard drive's disappearance, claimed he took it to "put some stuff on it" but forgot to return it. Authorities found multiple electronic devices containing the information from Gupta's hard drive in Sarkar's apartment. The Timberwolves have stated that they are aware of the allegations but will not comment further as it is an ongoing legal matter.
