El Segundo Triumphs, Secures Spot in Little League World Series

El Segundo's baseball team of 11- and 12-year-olds has qualified for the Little League World Series after securing a 3-1 victory over San Ramon in the West Regional championship game. Pitcher Louis Lappe played a crucial role, striking out eight batters in 5 2/3 innings. El Segundo will be the 20th team to compete in the tournament and will face the Great Lakes Regional champion in their opening game.
