The estate of late NFL quarterback Dwayne Haskins has reached a settlement with the driver, owner, and broker of the dump truck that fatally hit him on a Florida highway in April 2022. The specifics of the settlement have not been disclosed. The lawsuit, filed on behalf of Haskins' widow, alleged that the driver was speeding and driving carelessly with an overloaded cargo load. Other settlements with various parties have been reached, but the case continues against multiple other defendants. The lawsuit also accused two individuals of drugging Haskins. Haskins, a former first-round pick, struggled in the NFL and was cut in 2021 before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a backup.
