Nikki McCray-Penson, Olympic gold-medalist and Women's Basketball Hall of Famer, dies at 51

Nikki McCray-Penson, a two-time Olympic gold-medalist and former ABL MVP, has passed away at the age of 51. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. McCray-Penson had a successful career as a player in the ABL and WNBA, winning MVP honors in 1997 and becoming a three-time All-Star. She later transitioned to coaching, working at schools such as South Carolina, Rutgers, and Old Dominion. McCray-Penson was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.
