Indianapolis Seeks to Purchase Eleven Park Soccer Stadium Site

The City of Indianapolis has offered to buy the Diamond Chain property from Keystone Group and Indy Eleven Owner Ersal Ozdemir to protect historic cemeteries and reduce potential downtown locations for a soccer stadium. The plan for a $1.5 billion development hit obstacles due to the discovery of numerous burial sites. Mayor Joe Hogsett's alternative proposal for a stadium at the Indianapolis Heliport property is now the primary option, with a City-County Council committee set to discuss it soon. Keystone Group criticized the city's handling of negotiations.
