Ex-NFL player Peyton Hillis saves son and niece from rip current in heroic rescue.

Former NFL running back Peyton Hillis recounts the day he saved his son and niece from a rip current while swimming at a Florida beach earlier this year. Hillis said he reacted and started running into the water when he heard his mom screaming and saw his son and niece drowning. He was able to rescue his niece first and then his son, who was almost limp by the time he reached him. Hillis lost consciousness and experienced lung and kidney failure while carrying his son to the beach. Both children have since recovered from the incident. Hillis warns others to respect the water and always be aware of their surroundings.
