Ducks Add Physical Forward Viel in Conditional Pick Swap

The Anaheim Ducks acquired forward Jeffrey Viel from the Boston Bruins for a conditional 2026 fourth‑round pick. Viel, 28, is known as a hard-nosed, penalty-prone depth winger who spent much of last season in the AHL with Providence and could be used by Anaheim in the NHL or assigned to the San Diego Gulls. Boston quickly recalled defenseman Billy Sweezey to address roster needs after dealing Viel, while Viel’s future role with the Ducks remains to be determined.
