"R.I. Men Charged in Fatal Brawl at Gillette Stadium Resulting in Patriots Fan's Death"

Two Rhode Island men have been charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct in connection with the death of a New England Patriots fan during a game. John Vieira, 59, and Justin Mitchell, 39, allegedly punched 53-year-old Dale Mooney, who later died in the hospital. The cause of death was determined to be a "probable cardiac dysrhythmia in a person with severe hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease during a physical altercation." Despite ruling the death a homicide, the district attorney's office stated that there was insufficient evidence for criminal prosecution related to the charges of homicide. The men are scheduled for court appearances in January.
