Ex-NBA Player Ben McLemore Charged with First-Degree Rape and Other Sex Crimes

Former NBA player Ben McLemore has been arraigned on charges including first-degree rape and first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, with a maximum sentence of 20 years in jail, stemming from an incident in October 2021 in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The 31-year-old, who was a member of the Trail Blazers at the time of the alleged assault, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant at Portland International Airport. A grand jury handed down an indictment in February, and police have commended the survivor for coming forward. McLemore, a former seventh overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, hasn't played in the league since 2022.
