"Arrest Made in Non-Racially Motivated Theft of Jackie Robinson Statue"

A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a bronze Jackie Robinson statue in Wichita, Kansas, which was later found dismantled and burned. Police stated that the theft was not motivated by hate, but rather the intent was to sell the metal for scrap. The suspect, who has a criminal record, faces charges including felony theft and aggravated criminal damage to property. Donations have poured in to replace the statue, and a replacement is anticipated to be erected within a matter of months.
