Fanatics Launches Studio to Turn Sports IP Into Repeatable Entertainment

Fanatics, led by Michael Rubin, is launching Fanatics Studios in partnership with OBB Media, aiming to become a premier sports content studio. The venture’s slate includes a strategic LA28 Olympics/Paralympics collaboration with an official Olympics film, a major ESPN deal to produce the 2026 ESPY Awards and additional ESPN content, and partnerships with WWE and MLB for various shows. It also plans docuseries around Tom Brady’s retirement and events like the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in Saudi Arabia. Ratner will serve as CEO of Fanatics Studios while continuing his role at OBB Media, and Rubin says the goal is to create big IP and repeatable formats with significant year-one revenue potential.
