Omaha residents working downtown during the College World Series are facing high parking fees, with some saying they are losing money due to the cost. The "event rate" is in effect for meters from 14th to 17th streets and Cass to Cuming streets, with some streets closed for security reasons. Cheaper parking is available five blocks from Charles Schwab Field, but requires a longer walk. Park Omaha said street parking is available at 50 cents outside of the event rate zone, or in their parking garages or lots ranging between $10 and $15.
