Multiple Bobcat Attacks Leave Camp Counselors and Camper Injured at Connecticut State Park

Three camp counselors leading a group of youth campers at Selden Neck State Park in Connecticut were injured but survived after fighting off and killing a bobcat that had attacked one of them. The bobcat tested positive for rabies. The counselors were part of the state's Wilderness School program, which offers outdoor expeditions for young people who have had traumatic experiences or need extra support. This was the first reported encounter between a Wilderness School expedition and a wild animal.
