Fatal Elk Attack Claims First Victim in Arizona as Woman is Trampled to Death

A woman in Arizona has become the first person to die from an elk attack in the state after allegedly trying to feed the animal. The incident occurred on her property in the Pine Lake community, and her husband found her with injuries consistent with being trampled by an elk. The victim was taken to the hospital but later passed away. The Arizona Game and Fish Department has warned against feeding wildlife, as it can lead to habituation and dangerous encounters. While this is the first fatal elk attack in Arizona, there have been five reported elk attacks in the past five years.
