Florida Man Loses Hand in Alligator Attack While Fishing

A Florida man was hospitalized after a 9-foot alligator attacked him, biting off his hand while he was fishing in a pond at a golf course. Witnesses called 911 as the gator attacked, and the victim was airlifted to a hospital in Orlando. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission had to euthanize the alligator, following protocol for gators that attack humans. The victim's hand was also sent to a medical facility in case it could be reattached. The FWC advises caution around alligators and urges the public to report sightings or issues to their hotline.
