Surfer Attacked by Shark at New Smyrna Beach

A 38-year-old surfer from South Carolina was bitten in the face by a shark while surfing at New Smyrna Beach in Volusia County, Florida. The man was taken to a trauma center as a precaution but has since been released. Volusia County is known for its high number of shark attacks, earning it the title of "shark bite capital of the world." This incident marks the seventh shark bite in the county this year.
