Fatal Bear Attack Claims Life of Kansas Woman near Yellowstone National Park

A Kansas woman, identified as Amie Adamson, was attacked and killed by a grizzly bear while jogging on a trail near Yellowstone National Park. The victim's body was found a few hundred yards from a trailhead and private campground. Authorities believe it was a chance encounter with the bear, which was traveling with at least one cub. The victim did not have bear spray, a recommended deterrent in bear-populated areas. Traps set for the bears have been unsuccessful, and authorities are considering whether to relocate or kill the adult bear if captured. Grizzly bear populations have been increasing in the region, and encounters with humans, although rare, can be deadly for both bears and humans.
