"Cougar Injures Woman in Attack on Washington Cyclists"

A cougar attacked a group of five cyclists on a trail in Washington, leaving one woman hospitalized in stable condition. Wildlife officials removed one cougar from the scene and are investigating the possibility of a second cougar. Cougar attacks on humans are extremely rare, with only two fatal attacks and approximately 20 other recorded encounters resulting in human injury in the last 100 years in Washington state.
