Child Attacked by Bear in New York Backyard

A 7-year-old boy was attacked by a black bear while playing in his backyard in Bedford, Westchester County, just north of New York City. The child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The bear was shot and killed by officials after it failed to retreat.
