Black bear mauls woman in central Minnesota

A woman was seriously injured by a black bear near Nisswa, Minnesota, after she let her dog out and went outside to check on it. The bear swiped at her, causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The bear left the area after the attack, and conservation officers are monitoring the area for bears that may pose a threat to public safety. This is the 10th bear attack resulting in serious injuries in Minnesota since 1987.
