Tragic Death of Elderly Couple in South Carolina Home with 1,000-Degree Heater

An elderly couple in South Carolina was found dead in their bedroom after a wellness check, with police discovering that the home's heater had reached a scorching 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, causing the victims' bodies to exceed 106 degrees. The responding officer noted that the residence was extremely hot, and the fire department found the interior temperature to be over 120 degrees. While no signs of foul play were detected, the coroner's office is investigating the unusually high house temperature, which led to the tragic deaths of 84-year-old Joan Littlejohn and 82-year-old Glennwood Fowler.
