Suspect arrested in fatal shooting of West Virginia trooper.

A state police officer, Sgt. Cory Maynard, was fatally shot in southern West Virginia, and a suspect, Timothy Kennedy, was later arrested. The shooting occurred in Mingo County, where a sheriff was shot to death in 2013. The area has a history of violence, including the legendary Hatfield-McCoy feud and the "Matewan Massacre" of 1920. The Mingo County School District postponed a graduation ceremony for safety reasons during the manhunt for the suspect. Governor Jim Justice ordered all flags statewide be flown at half-staff in honor of Maynard.
