Sheriff's Deputy Fatally Attacked by Dog While Dog-Sitting in Indiana

An Indiana sheriff's deputy, identified as Tamieka White, was killed in a dog attack at her home in Indianapolis. Her 8-year-old son was also injured but is expected to survive. Multiple dogs were present at the scene, and officers shot one that was described as "actively aggressive." The Indianapolis Animal Care Services took three live dogs, one dead dog, and one cat from the scene. White had worked for the Marion County Sheriff's Office since 2007 and was described as courageous and dedicated. Deadly dog attacks have been reported in several states this year.
