The fatal shooting of 26-year-old Dexter Reed, Jr., by Chicago police officers during a traffic stop last month is under investigation, with the city’s Civilian Office of Police Accountability releasing body-camera videos and other materials related to the incident. According to the office's chief administrator, preliminary information suggests that Reed fired first, injuring an officer, and in response, four officers fired approximately 96 shots at Reed, including after he exited his vehicle and while he was lying on the ground.
