The high-speed rail project by Brightline West, connecting Rancho Cucamonga and the high desert to Las Vegas, is set to break ground in 2024. The project, expected to cost $12 billion, will be the first fully electric high-speed passenger train in the Western United States. It is estimated to generate $5 billion in construction and investments in San Bernardino County, create 11,000 jobs, and transport travelers from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in approximately two hours. The Cucamonga Station will also be transformed into a multimodal transit center, connecting passengers to various transportation options and the Ontario International Airport. The project received $3 billion in federal funding from the Biden administration.
