Overnight Closure of Southbound U.S. 101 from Petaluma to Novato

Southbound US 101 will be closed overnight from Lakeville Highway in Petaluma to Atherton Road in Novato to allow PG&E crews to reroute gas transmission lines that were exposed during a landslide. The closure is from 9 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday. PG&E is building a temporary bypass due to a potential storm expected early next week. Drivers should take alternate routes. The gas transmission lines deliver gas to 95,000 customers in Marin County. The slide also took down two power poles and badly damaged part of Redwood Boulevard.
