Fort Lauderdale Airport Terminal 1 Reopens Following Evacuation

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport's Terminal 1 was briefly evacuated and the road temporarily closed due to an unattended bag on the departures floor. The Broward Sheriff's Office bomb squad investigated and reopened the terminal about an hour later. Flights were impacted as the passenger security check was temporarily closed, but operations returned to normal after the evacuation. Terminal 1 is used by several airlines and has a U.S. Customs presence.
