Tragic Head-On Crash Claims Lives of 2 SIU Students from Park Ridge and Des Plaines

Two Southern Illinois University students, Wolfgang W. Gustaveson and Francis M. Martinez, were killed in a head-on crash in Carbondale. The two young men, both living on campus, were found dead at the scene, while the occupant of the other vehicle was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. The City of Carbondale expressed condolences to the families and urged anyone with information to contact the police.
