Tragic Dog Mauling Claims Life of 6-Year-Old Boy in NE Portland

A 6-year-old boy was killed and a woman injured in a dog mauling incident at a residence in Northeast Portland. The boy's caretaker, who owns two large Great Dane-mastiff mixes, went into the garage to tend to the dogs when the boy followed her and was attacked by one of the dogs. The woman tried to intervene but was unable to stop the attack. The dogs remain in custody, and an investigation is ongoing to determine if the dog owner will face criminal charges.
