Tragic Crash Claims Lives of Mother and Infant in Emergency C-Section

A pregnant woman and her unborn child were killed in a hit-and-run collision involving a stolen car in San Jose. The woman was driving when her vehicle collided with the stolen car, and two men who occupied the stolen car fled the scene on foot. The woman was taken to the hospital but later pronounced dead. Despite efforts to save the baby through an emergency C-section, the child also died. The incident marks the city's 42nd fatal collision and the 43rd traffic death of 2023.
