Tragic Accident Claims Life of Firefighter's Son at Memorial Event

A 3-year-old child, who was the son of a Wilmington firefighter participating in a memorial walk, was fatally run over by another off-duty firefighter attempting to park and join the event. The incident occurred in the Riverfront area of Wilmington, Delaware. The child was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead. Wilmington Police are conducting an investigation into the incident. The tragedy comes seven years after a house fire in Canby Park that claimed the lives of three Wilmington firefighters.
