Survivor of West Reading Chocolate Factory Explosion Shares Story.

Patricia Borges, a survivor of the R.M. Palmer Co. chocolate factory explosion in West Reading, Pennsylvania, recounted her terrifying experience of being engulfed in flames and falling into a vat of liquid chocolate. She spent nine hours screaming for help and waiting for rescue as firefighters battled the inferno. Seven of her co-workers died in the explosion, and 10 were injured. Borges and others had complained about a gas odor about 30 minutes before the factory blew up. She is seeking accountability and justice for her colleagues.
