NTSB Report: Pilot Error and Spatial Disorientation Caused Gwen Shamblin Church Plane Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board released a report detailing the events leading up to the 2021 plane crash that killed seven high-ranking members of Brentwood's Remnant Fellowship Church. The report concluded that the pilot became disoriented shortly after takeoff from Smyrna Airport, experiencing spatial disorientation and not effectively using his instrumentation during takeoff and climb. There was no evidence of mechanical issues or medical conditions that would have led to the crash. The plane crashed into Percy Priest Lake at a high rate of speed.
