Fatal Unprovoked Bear Attack in Arizona.

A 66-year-old man in Arizona was mauled to death by a black bear in a rare, unprovoked attack while having his morning coffee. The bear was killed by a neighbor who was trying to save the victim's life. Fatal bear attacks are exceedingly rare, averaging about one per year in the US. The attack did not seem like a female bear protecting her cubs, and there was nothing on the site that would have precipitated an attack by the bear.
