Fatal Baton Rouge Police Helicopter Crash: Officers Identified and Cause Released.

Two Baton Rouge Police Department officers, Cpl. Scotty Canezaro and Sgt. David Poirrier, were killed in a helicopter crash while assisting with a vehicle pursuit. Both men were licensed helicopter pilots and trained tactical flight officers who patrolled the skies of Baton Rouge on a nightly basis. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Governor John Bel Edwards asked the state to join him in praying for their families and recognized their heroism, sacrifice, and devotion to public service.
