Climber Sacrifices Life to Save Friend from Falling Ice in Utah

A 41-year-old woman died while ice climbing in Utah after pushing her friend out of the way of a falling column of ice, likely saving her friend's life. The woman became trapped under two blocks of ice and did not survive. A male climber also fell about 40 feet and was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. The woman was identified as Meg O'Neill, a prolific climber and committed outdoors person.
