Massive Traffic Jam on Northbound Interstate 5 Due to Big Rig Crash near the Grapevine

A big rig crash on northbound Interstate 5 near the Grapevine caused a 30-mile backup, with the truck losing its load of 15-foot metal poles and blocking all lanes. The far two right lanes were closed for cleanup, causing traffic to come to a near standstill for several hours. All lanes have since reopened, but continued delays are expected as traffic clears out of the area, just one day before Thanksgiving, a traditionally busy travel day. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
