Florida Legislature Approves Ban on Left-Lane Driving

The Florida legislature has unanimously passed a bill to ban motorists from driving in the left lane of highways, except for overtaking and passing another vehicle, preparing to exit, or when directed by an official traffic control device. The bill, which now awaits Gov. Ron DeSantis' signature, aims to improve highway safety and would impose fines for violations. If signed, Florida would join eight other states with similar restrictions, as driving in the left lane at slower speeds can create dangerous situations for other drivers.
