Tempe voters reject Coyotes arena deal, franchise future uncertain.

Unofficial results show that Tempe voters have rejected the proposed $2.1 billion Arizona Coyotes entertainment district and arena, with 56% of voters saying "no" to Propositions 301 and 302, and 57% to Proposition 303. The project was proposed to be built on 46 acres of land that are currently used as a landfill near Rio Salado Parkway and Priest Drive, but the city of Phoenix and Sky Harbor International Airport expressed concerns about the residences that would be built as part of the project in the high-noise area under the airport's flight path.
